Safety & Security

Exactly how Amelia connects to your LinkedIn

No automation. No password storage. No activity that violates LinkedIn's terms. You stay in control — always.

The short answer

Amelia connects to LinkedIn through LinkedIn's official OAuth protocol — the same standard used by every major app that integrates with LinkedIn. You authorize the connection in your LinkedIn account. Amelia never sees your password. The only thing Amelia can do with the connection is publish posts you've explicitly approved. You can disconnect at any time.

What Amelia can and cannot do with your LinkedIn

What Amelia CAN do

  • Publish a post to your LinkedIn profile — only when you explicitly approve it
  • Read your basic profile info (name, headline) to personalize your experience

What Amelia CANNOT do

  • Read your private messages or inbox
  • Send connection requests or messages on your behalf
  • Like, comment on, or share other posts
  • Access your contact list or connections
  • Scrape your followers or engagement data
  • Post anything without your explicit approval
  • Store or access your LinkedIn password

How the LinkedIn connection works

1

You initiate the connection

When you connect LinkedIn in Amelia, you're redirected to LinkedIn's own login page. Amelia never sees your credentials — LinkedIn handles authentication entirely.

2

LinkedIn issues an access token

After you authorize, LinkedIn gives Amelia a scoped access token. This token can only do what the specific permissions allow — in Amelia's case, that's posting to your profile.

3

You approve every post before it goes live

Amelia never publishes automatically. Every draft goes through your approval queue. You can edit, approve, or discard. Nothing reaches LinkedIn without your explicit action.

4

You can revoke at any time

You can disconnect Amelia from LinkedIn any time — from within Amelia's settings, or directly from LinkedIn's "Third-party apps & services" settings. Revocation is instant.

What data Amelia stores

Your LinkedIn OAuth token

Stored securely and encrypted. Used only to publish posts you approve. Never shared with third parties.

Your Identity Engine data

Your Profile Anchor, Content Pillars, and Style Guide — stored in your account. Used to generate aligned drafts. Deleted when you close your account.

Your draft history

Posts you've generated, edited, approved, or discarded — stored in your account for reference and learning. You can delete these at any time.

Your published posts

Posts you've published through Amelia are tracked to support performance learning. This is your data and stays in your account.

How to disconnect Amelia from LinkedIn

You can disconnect at any time from two places:

  1. 1.From Amelia: go to Settings → LinkedIn Connection → Disconnect
  2. 2.From LinkedIn directly: Me → Settings → Data Privacy → Third-party apps & services, then remove Amelia

Revoking access is immediate. Amelia will no longer be able to publish on your behalf.

LinkedIn compliance

Amelia uses LinkedIn's official API and complies with LinkedIn's Terms of Service. We do not use browser automation, cookies injection, or any method that circumvents LinkedIn's systems. All posts are published through the official API after your explicit approval.
