AuthoredUp alternatives: when you want more than a LinkedIn editor
AuthoredUp is the best fit for people who write their own LinkedIn posts and want formatting, a feed preview and detailed analytics; people usually look elsewhere when they want posts drafted for them, a tool that works outside Chrome, or a library of other people's top posts.
Short answer: if you write your own LinkedIn posts and want them to look right and see how they perform, AuthoredUp is hard to beat, and you may not need an alternative. People usually switch for one of these reasons:
- You want posts drafted for you from your own notes and voice memos: Amelia.
- You want an AI writer with voice notes, scheduling and team approvals: Supergrow.
- You want to study other people's top posts and use growth tools: Taplio.
- You want a planned weekly rhythm built from a brain-dump: ContentIn.
- You post the same content to several networks: Typefully or Buffer.
We make Amelia, one of the options on this list. We have tried to give every tool the use case it wins, including the ones where AuthoredUp or another competitor is the better choice. Prices are from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on the date shown next to each one.

How we evaluated
We read each tool's pricing page, feature pages, help docs and release notes, and noted what each plan includes for someone posting on LinkedIn. For criticism we read Chrome Web Store and Trustpilot reviews, comments from LinkedIn users and independent tool directories. Most articles about "AuthoredUp alternatives" are written by companies that sell a competing tool, so we set those aside. That leaves only a small amount of independent criticism, which is itself worth knowing.
We did not run a paid trial of every tool, so this compares what each tool offers and what its users report, not a hands-on test. We watch each vendor's pricing page and update this post when a price changes.
What AuthoredUp does well
AuthoredUp adds the editing LinkedIn lacks. You get bold and italic fonts, bullets and numbered lists(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), and you can see the exact feed view on desktop and mobile, in light and dark mode, including the “See more” fold(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24) before you post. Its analytics go well past likes, covering post saves, sends, reach, profile views and followers gained(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), and the extension pulls in all your past LinkedIn™ posts with their analytics, going back years(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24).
The Individual plan is $19.95 per month(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24). For teams, Business is $14.95 per profile/per month(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24) with a minimum of three profiles, and company pages cost nothing extra.
Why some people leave AuthoredUp
Independent criticism of AuthoredUp is thin, and most of it is about a few recurring limits rather than the core editor.
Its AI writer is still in beta. Its AI assistant, Coauthor, is listed on the pricing page as currently in closed beta(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), while the release notes say the beta is open to everyone on a trial or paid plan(AuthoredUp release notes, 2026-10-24). If you want drafts written for you today, this is the main reason to look elsewhere.
It depends on the Chrome extension. An independent directory describes it as Chrome extension only(Creator Economy Tools, AuthoredUp review, 2026-03-07), with no native mobile app, and scheduling runs through the extension.
The extension and LinkedIn can fall out of sync. A Chrome Web Store reviewer wrote that the sync with LinkedIn is not working properly(Chrome Web Store review, 2025-03-31). AuthoredUp's own release notes acknowledge it, telling users if you've had issues with stale or missing data this year, give it another try(AuthoredUp release notes, 2026-10-24).
Formatted text and accessibility. Bold and italic on LinkedIn are special Unicode characters, and the same directory notes that screen readers and accessibility tools often can't interpret Unicode-substituted text(Creator Economy Tools, AuthoredUp review, 2026-03-07). This applies to any tool that adds LinkedIn formatting, not only AuthoredUp.
Right-to-left languages. One otherwise positive reviewer said it lacks RTL support in key areas like the editor and preview(Chrome Web Store review, 2025-03-06).
Seeing other people's top posts. A LinkedIn user wrote in a comment that I uninstalled AuthoredUp and resorted to Kleo since it also allows me to view the best performing posts of other people(LinkedIn comment, 2024-08-08). Kleo has since moved on from the original Kleo extension(Kleo homepage, 2026-10-24), which was free, to a paid app. Taplio's viral-post library covers that job.
Amelia: best if you rarely post and want drafts from your own notes
Amelia is for people who have useful things to say but rarely post: consultants, founders, coaches and other professionals who don't want to become content creators. You send a note, a link, a thought or a voice memo, from the web app, WhatsApp, Telegram, email or the Chrome extension. Amelia starts from your notes, voice memos, conversations, and actual work(Amelia homepage, 2026-10-24), drafts the post, and you review, edit and publish it to LinkedIn. She writes posts in 20 languages(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24).
Price: the Free plan starts with 5 free posts, then 2 every month(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24). Pro is $29 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24), with unlimited posts.
Trade-offs: Amelia does not have AuthoredUp's depth of post analytics, its library of hooks or its CSV and API exports, and carousels are listed as coming soon. Amelia is new, so there are no independent reviews of her yet. If you enjoy writing your own posts and mainly want them to look good, AuthoredUp is the better fit.
Our Amelia vs AuthoredUp comparison covers the two side by side.
Supergrow: best for AI drafting with voice notes and team approvals
Supergrow drafts posts in your voice, lets you upload existing voice memos or audio files(Supergrow, voice notes, 2026-10-24), schedules them and adds engagement and analytics modules. Pro is $39 a month, or $31 billed annually(Supergrow pricing, 2026-10-24), and Teams adds approval workflows. A G2 reviewer notes thin analytics, saying the analytics hasn't really worked as well(G2 review, 2026-03-16), which matters if analytics are why you used AuthoredUp. See our Supergrow alternatives guide.
Taplio: best for studying what performs and growing your network
Taplio covers the job AuthoredUp leaves out: a library its pricing page lists as 5M+ Inspiration & viral posts(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24) from other people, alongside scheduling, analytics, engagement tools and, on Pro, lead outreach. Plans are $39 for Starter, $69 for Growth and $199 for Pro(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24) a month, and AI post writing starts on Growth. See our Taplio alternatives guide.
ContentIn: best for a fixed weekly routine
ContentIn asks you to dump what happened this week(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24) and turns it into a week of posts in your voice, trained on at least 20 of your existing LinkedIn posts(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24). If you have used AuthoredUp for a while, you likely have that history. Growth is $39/month, or $31/month billed annually(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24), with no free plan.
Typefully and Buffer: best for scheduling across networks
If LinkedIn is one network among several, a general scheduler may be enough. Typefully has a free plan, publishes to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon and Substack(Typefully pricing, 2026-10-24), and lists a first comment and PDF carousels among its premium features(Typefully pricing, 2026-10-24) for LinkedIn. Buffer's free plan lets you connect up to 3 channels(Buffer pricing, 2026-10-24). Neither offers AuthoredUp's LinkedIn analytics: an independent review advises to skip Typefully if Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn analytics is the job(JustPricing, Typefully pricing, 2026-10-20).
