Taplio alternatives: which LinkedIn tool fits how you actually post

Taplio is a strong fit if you want AI writing, a viral-post library, engagement tools and lead outreach in one LinkedIn dashboard; if you mostly need formatting and analytics, a weekly writing rhythm, a cheap multi-network scheduler, or posts drafted from your own notes, a narrower tool fits better and usually costs less.

Short answer: stay with Taplio if you use its AI writing, viral-post library, engagement tools and lead outreach together. If you mostly use one of those, a narrower tool fits better:

  • You write your own posts and want formatting and analytics: AuthoredUp.
  • You want an AI writer with voice notes, scheduling and team approvals: Supergrow.
  • You want a planned weekly rhythm built from a brain-dump: ContentIn.
  • You post the same content to several networks: Buffer or Typefully.
  • You rarely post and want drafts from your own notes and voice memos: Amelia.

We make Amelia, one of the options on this list. We have tried to give every tool the use case it wins, including the ones where Taplio or a competitor is the better choice. Prices are from each vendor's own pricing page, checked on the date shown next to each one.

How we evaluated

We read each tool's pricing page, feature pages and help docs, and noted what each plan includes for someone posting on LinkedIn: AI drafting, scheduling, analytics, team features and what the entry plan leaves out. For criticism we read reviews on G2, Capterra, Trustpilot, Product Hunt, the Chrome Web Store and Reddit, plus independent review sites. Reviews published by companies that sell a competing LinkedIn tool were set aside, so the complaints below come from users and independent reviewers.

We did not run a paid trial of every tool, so this is a comparison of what each tool offers and what its users report, not a hands-on test. We watch each vendor's pricing page and update this post when a price changes.

What Taplio does well

Taplio is built for people who treat LinkedIn as a growth channel. Its pricing page lists 5M+ Inspiration & viral posts(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24), post scheduling, analytics on your posts and audience, and engagement tools for replying and commenting. The Pro plan adds lead outreach: Taplio can automatically send DMs to people engaging with your posts(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24).

Its plans are $39 for Starter, $69 for Growth and $199 for Pro(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24) a month, or $384, $588 and $1,788 billed annually(Taplio pricing (yearly billing), 2026-10-24). One detail matters if you came for the AI: on the pricing page, "Write viral posts with AI" is listed under Growth, as "Everything in Starter, plus"(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24), so Starter is a scheduler and analytics plan.

Even critics like parts of it. A Reddit user who found the AI posts robotic still wrote that they liked their engagement tools and inspo features(Reddit, r/SaaS).

Why people leave Taplio

These are the complaints that come up most often in reviews by users and independent reviewers.

The price, for what a single person uses. A Capterra reviewer wrote that the price should be lower so that a beginner can start using this software(Capterra review, 2026-06-12). On Product Hunt, a reviewer called it too expensive for the value it brings(Product Hunt review).

AI posts that sound generic. An independent review found that Taplio's AI often produces generic content that requires rewriting to regain an authentic voice(Salesdorado, Taplio review, 2025-12-08). The Reddit user quoted above found Taplio pretty robotic and overpriced(Reddit, r/SaaS).

AI credits that run out. On Growth, AI writing, carousels and AI images draw from 250 AI credits per month(Taplio pricing, 2026-10-24). TrafficSalad's review puts it plainly: "Heavy users get pushed to Pro."(TrafficSalad, Taplio review, 2025-12-01)

Renewals people did not expect. Trustpilot reviews describe charges after a trial or renewal that the reviewer did not notice, such as a subscription that had been charging for months without me noticing(Trustpilot review, 2026-04-18). Taplio replied to one of these reviews saying it had refunded the latest renewal, so treat this as a reason to note your renewal date rather than a reason to avoid the tool.

Automation risk. If you plan to use the outreach features, TrafficSalad's review notes that LinkedIn has historically taken action against automation patterns that look like spam(TrafficSalad, Taplio review, 2025-12-01).

AuthoredUp: best for formatting and analytics on posts you write

AuthoredUp is a Chrome extension and web editor for people who already write their own posts. It adds the formatting LinkedIn lacks, such as bold and italic fonts, bullets and numbered lists(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), and shows the exact feed view on desktop and mobile(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24) before you post. Its analytics go further than Taplio's core stats: post saves, sends, reach, profile views and followers gained(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24).

Price: the Individual plan is $19.95 per month(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), with a free trial that needs no credit card.

Trade-offs: it is mainly a formatting and analytics tool. Its AI writing assistant, Coauthor, is still a beta: the pricing page says currently in closed beta(AuthoredUp pricing, 2026-10-24), while AuthoredUp's release notes say the beta is open to everyone on a trial or paid plan(AuthoredUp release notes, 2026-10-24). Scheduling runs through the browser extension, and an independent directory describes it as Chrome extension only(Creator Economy Tools, AuthoredUp review, 2026-03-07), with no native mobile app.

Our Amelia vs AuthoredUp comparison goes into more detail.

Supergrow: best for AI drafting with voice notes and team approvals

Supergrow is the closest all-in-one alternative to Taplio. It drafts posts in your voice, takes voice notes (you can upload existing voice memos or audio files(Supergrow, voice notes, 2026-10-24)), schedules them, and adds engagement and analytics modules. Its Teams plan adds approval workflows and includes 5 accounts(Supergrow pricing, 2026-10-24), which suits a company running several executives' profiles.

Price: Pro is $39 a month, or $31 billed annually(Supergrow pricing, 2026-10-24). Teams is $199 a month(Supergrow pricing, 2026-10-24).

Trade-offs: on G2, one reviewer found the analytics thin (the analytics hasn't really worked as well(G2 review, 2026-03-16)) and another said the interface is pretty dated(G2 review, 2026-05-22). See our Supergrow alternatives guide if you are weighing it against simpler tools.

ContentIn: best for a planned weekly rhythm

ContentIn is built around a weekly routine: you dump what happened this week(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24) and it turns that into a week of posts in your voice, then publishes them through LinkedIn's official API. Its voice model is built from at least 20 of your existing LinkedIn posts(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24), so it suits people who already have a posting history.

Price: Growth is $39/month, or $31/month billed annually(ContentIn pricing, 2026-10-24). There is no free plan, and the trial asks for a card.

Trade-offs: if you have rarely posted, the voice model has little to learn from at the start.

Buffer and Typefully: best for scheduling across networks

If you post the same content to LinkedIn, X and other networks, a general scheduler may be all you need. Buffer has a free plan that lets you connect up to 3 channels(Buffer pricing, 2026-10-24), and its paid plans are priced per channel. Typefully has a free plan too, and publishes to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon and Substack(Typefully pricing, 2026-10-24).

Trade-offs: neither is a LinkedIn specialist. An independent pricing review advises to skip Typefully if Instagram, TikTok, or LinkedIn analytics is the job(JustPricing, Typefully pricing, 2026-10-20). A marketing agency's review of Buffer notes that the per-channel pricing climbs quickly once you manage several platforms(The Marketing Agency, Buffer review).

Amelia: best if you rarely post and want drafts from your own notes

Amelia is for people who have useful things to say but rarely post: consultants, founders, coaches and other professionals who don't want to become content creators. Instead of starting from a topic or a viral template, Amelia starts with your notes, voice memos, conversations, and actual work(Amelia homepage, 2026-10-24), and shapes that into a post you review, edit and publish to LinkedIn. You can send material from WhatsApp, Telegram, email or the Chrome extension, and Amelia writes posts in 20 languages(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24).

Price: the Free plan starts with 5 free posts, then 2 every month(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24). Pro is $29 a month, or $19 a month billed yearly(Amelia pricing, 2026-10-24), with unlimited posts.

Trade-offs: Amelia has no viral-post library, no engagement or comment tools and no lead outreach, and carousels are listed as coming soon. Amelia is new, so there are no independent reviews of her yet. If those growth features are why you use Taplio, Amelia is not a replacement for them.

Our Amelia vs Taplio comparison covers the two side by side.

Frequently asked

Is there a free alternative to Taplio?
Yes, for parts of what Taplio does. Buffer and Typefully have free plans for scheduling posts, and Amelia has a free plan for drafting and publishing LinkedIn posts. None of them replaces Taplio's viral-post library or lead outreach.
Which Taplio alternative is best for writing posts with AI?
Supergrow and ContentIn are the closest, since both draft posts in your voice and schedule them. Amelia drafts from the notes, voice memos and links you send her, and suits people who post less often.
Which Taplio alternative is best for analytics?
AuthoredUp. It tracks saves, sends, reach, profile views and followers gained per post, and pulls in your past posts with their stats.
Does Taplio's Starter plan include AI writing?
No. On Taplio's pricing page, AI post writing is listed from the Growth plan up. Starter covers scheduling, core analytics and the viral-post library.
Is Taplio safe to use with LinkedIn?
Taplio's Pro plan includes automated DMs and connection requests. An independent reviewer points out that LinkedIn has acted against automation that looks like spam, so weigh that risk before turning those features on.
