Getting started

Connecting LinkedIn

One-click OAuth. Required for publishing, done in under 30 seconds.

Amelia publishes to LinkedIn through your own connected account, using LinkedIn's official API. Nothing posts without your explicit click. The first time you publish (or schedule), you'll be asked to connect.

How to connect

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations.
  2. Find the LinkedIn card and click Connect.
  3. LinkedIn opens in a new tab and asks you to confirm the connection.
  4. You're returned to Amelia with a green Connected badge showing the account name.

That's it. You're ready to publish.

What permissions you grant

We ask for the minimum LinkedIn scopes needed to do the job:

  • openid + profile: your name and avatar, so we can show you which account you're connected as
  • w_member_social: permission to post on your behalf, only when you click publish

We don't request permission to read your feed, your messages, your network, or your posts. We can't see who's engaging with your content beyond what you can already see in LinkedIn.

What we store

  • An OAuth refresh token (encrypted at rest) so you don't have to re-authorize every week
  • Your LinkedIn member ID (used as the author of every post)
  • Your display name and profile photo (shown in the Integrations card)

We never store your LinkedIn password. OAuth means LinkedIn handles login and we only get a token.

Disconnecting

In Settings → Integrations, click the × on the LinkedIn card and confirm. Disconnecting:

  • Revokes the token immediately on our side
  • Stops any scheduled posts from publishing (they'll fail with a clear error and stay in Scheduled for you to reconnect and retry)
  • Doesn't touch posts that have already been published. Those live on LinkedIn under your account, same as anything else

You can reconnect any time, and your scheduled posts will resume.
